Today I went to Annapolis, Maryland with one of my best friends, Roseanne. Annapolis is Maryland’s capital city, and is on the Chesapeake Bay. It is also home to the United States Naval Academy. We parked in town and used Uber for the rest of the day. We started out by going for a wine tasting at Great Frogs Winery. What a hot day! Our Uber driver got us there forty-five minutes early. The staff at the Winery was so nice to let us hang out in the air conditioned room until our 1:00 reservation.
We had tastings of six wines. Each was very good!
We then got a tour of the wine making process.
Downtown Annapolis is quaint with its brick-lined streets. A beautiful town to stroll around.
We had 4:00 reservations on the Schooner Woodwind. I've been on a boat before, but never on a schooner. It was amazing!
When our schooner left the dock, the sails went up and engine off. What a beautiful, free feeling.
The captain and crew called for volunteers to hoist the sails and helm the wheel.
I volunteered at the helming. The captain stood right next to me the whole time, guiding me on where to turn and when to stay straight. It was such a cool experience!
The sailing was smooth and relaxing. Roseanne and I enjoyed a glass of wine and took in the calmness of the Chesapeake Bay.
